Three from Norwalk, Willard earn All-SBC first team

Norwalk senior hitter Carly Bilton (190 kills) earned a spot on the first team in the Lake Division of the All-Sandusky Bay Conference volleyball teams, released on Tuesday.

Bilton is one of four players to earn all-league recognition for Norwalk (16-9) — which plays in a Division II district championship match at 6 p.m. Thursday against Bellevue (19-5).

The two teams shared the Lake Division championship this season, with each team winning the home match.

Earning second team for Norwalk was senior hitter Claire Kelley, while senior setter Olivia Ward and senior hitter Delaney Thomas were both honorable mention.

Bellevue setter Molly Bullion (1,991-of-2,013 for 773 assists )was the division’s Most Outstanding Performer. Junior libero Kami Hay and junior hitter Taylor Baxter were also first team selections for the Lady Red.

Willard duo is first team Bay

Willard seniors Haylie Hamons and Cassidy Crawford earned first team honors on the All-SBC Bay Division list, as they helped the Crimson Flashes share the league title with Huron this season.

Hamons finished with 392 digs as the libero for Willard (17-8), while Crawford had 314 kills as a hitter. Huron’s Makenna Schafer was the Most Outstanding Performer for the division.

Second team honors for Willard included senior setter Chloe Weaver and junior hitter McKenna Stephens. Senior hitter Alyse Cok was honorable mention.

For Edison (11-14), junior Lilli Schuster and sophomore Kira Appeman were second team selections as hitters, while sophomore setter Olivia Vitaz was honorable mention.
