Katherine “Kate” Griffin-Jett

BELLEVUE — Katherine “Kate” Griffin-Jett, 79, of Bellevue, passed away Friday, December 21, 2018 at the Bellevue Hospital.

She was born July 7, 1939 in Westlake the daughter of the late Hugh R. & Elizabeth R. (Miller) Griffin.

Kate was a journalist working at local newspapers. She received an Associates Degree in Journalism from BGSU. She wrote the article “And then the storm came” while working at the Norwalk Reflector, about the flood of 1969. She was the Reed Twp. Clerk and published 2 books about the history of West Lodi. Kate wrote for the Lyme Village Newsletter and was a history buff. Most of all she enjoyed her family.

Survivors include her husband, Howard Jett, sons, Jonathan Griffin, Richard Jett both of Bellevue, Step – Children, Theresa Kirian, Republic, Brenda Dawson, Columbus, Rebecca Rhodes, New jersey, Cynthia Kirk, Crestline, Michael Moore, Lucasville, Daniel Moore, Lucasville, Gregory Moore, Seattle, WA, and her sister Jean Garnes.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends will be received Thursday, Dec. 27, 2018 from 2 - 6 pm and Friday, Dec. 28, 2018 from 3:00 until the funeral Service begins at 5 pm, at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue.
