NEW HAVEN — Sandra J. Thomas, 72, of New Haven, died Thursday at the Cleveland Clinic, surrounded by her family.

She was born Jan. 12, 1946 to Wayne and Gladys (Hicks) Tussey.

She retired after 30 years of service from R.R. Donnelley's and Sons in Willard. She enjoyed decorating, painting and making beautiful flower arrangements. She loved spending time at Lake Erie with her family and friends, but most of all, her greatest joy was spending time with her kids and grandkids.

She is survived by two daughters, Vonda K. Moss of Hanover, PA, and Vicky (Heath) Polachek of Willard; nine grandchildren, Britni Isaac, Kaelyn Moss, Kaeleigh (Tyler) Buccione, Marisa Moss, Bronson (Ashley) Owens, Jaret, Brevon and Kamdyn Polachek, and Brayden Thwaits. eight great grandchildren and one on the way; mother, Gladys Tussey of Utica, OH; 2 brothers, Corwyn (Donna) Tussey of St. Louisville, OH and Keith Tussey of Utica, OH; sister-in-law, Debora Tussey of Newark; numerous nieces and nephews, and her favorite dog, Molly.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard "Dick" Thomas whom she married May 29, 1965 and who died December 20, 2015; father, Wayne Tussey and brother, Edward Tussey.

Friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Secor Funeral Home in Willard, where the funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Ricky Branham officiating. Burial will follow at in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Willard. Memorial contributions may be made to the Scleroderma Foundation or the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
