Kathryn “Kay M.” VanScoy

GREENWICH — Kathryn “Kay M.” VanScoy, age 104, of Greenwich, died Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Fisher Titus Medical Center, Norwalk.

She was born September 24, 1914 in Chester Township, Wayne County, Ohio, daughter of the late Ervin O. and Estellia (Ettinger) Zimmerman. Kay moved from Ashland to Greenwich in 1960.

She was a member of the Greenwich United Methodist Church, where she held many offices. She was a member of the United Methodist Women. Kay had worked at Kingwood Center in Mansfield for many years. She was a volunteer for Town and Country Players in Norwalk for many years. Kay was a lifetime member of the Greenwich Area Historical Society. She loved to do crafts and painting.

Kay is survived by several nieces and nephews and many good friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Myron VanScoy in 1985, her brothers, Robert and Virgil Zimmerman.

Burial of cremains will take place at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 7, 2018 at Greenwich Greenlawn Cemetery.

A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 7, 2018 at the Greenwich United Methodist Church, 18 East Main St., with Pastor Clarke Hogue officiating. Memorials if desired may be given to the Greenwich United Methodist Church or to the Greenwich Area Historical Society, 4 New St., Greenwich, Ohio 44837.
