David Lee Baker

COLLINS — David Lee Baker, 64, passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 in Stein Hospice, Sandusky, Ohio. He was born on July 19, 1954, to Edna Marie Baker and the late Charles Henry Baker Sr. in New Philadelphia Ohio.

David graduated from Western Reserve High School in 1972, and worked for Mayflower Vehicle Systems for 38 years until the factory closed. He then worked for David Price Metals for 5 years, before retiring due to illness.

Dave enjoyed traveling with his wife on their Harley Davidson motorcycle and was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He really loved hunting with his family and friends. He was a Free Mason of East Townsend Lodge #322, Worshipful Master in 1999, and was a committeeman for the U.A.W. for many years. Dave was always willing to help anyone in need and enjoyed spending time with his loved ones, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Dawn Baker, of Collins, Ohio; their children, David (Tracey Cox) Baker II, of Wakeman, Ohio, and Darlene (James) Chaney, of Elkhorn City, Kentucky; grandchildren, David Baker III, Brittany (Steven) Jewett, Trey Cox, James Devyn Chaney, and Valerie Chaney; great-grandchildren, Hudson Jewett, Harrison Jewett, and Adain Cox; mother, Edna Baker; siblings, Charles “Buddy”(Betsy) Baker, of Phoenix, Arizona, Larry (Sally) Morris, of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, Mable “Maxine” McCommis, of Clearwater, Florida, Pat Reisenger, of Owensville, Ohio, Charles “Chuck” (Kathy) Baker Jr., of Norwalk, Ohio, and Roanna Hoff, of Olena, Ohio; mother in law, Donna Jenkins; brothers and sisters in law, Debra (Brian) Pflieger, Denise Doughty, Donita (Gary) Evans, David (Laura) Myers, Wayne (Michelle) Jenkins, Jody Lynch, Ernie (Stephanie) Jenkins, and David (Monica) Myers. 

David was preceded in death by his father, Charles Henry Baker Sr; brothers, Marvin Baker Sr, Richard Baker, Ronnie Baker and Eddie Morris and sister, Eva Burns. 

Friends may call on Thursday, November 29, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St. Norwalk, Ohio. Services and the interment will be privately held.
