Teresa was born in Charleston, WV on September 12,1956 to Ivan and Margie Ellis. She was a 1973 graduate of Norwalk High School, later from East Carolina State, and post graduate degrees from The Ohio State University. Teresa served in the U.S. Navy in the mid-1970s, last stationed at Norfolk Naval Yard. After her time in the Navy she worked at a dive shop in Norfolk, VA and worked with world renowned undersea explorer Jacques Cousteau. She was a professor of geography at Columbus State College and The Ohio State University. Her greatest joys in life were her equestrian pursuits and her Doctorate work among the indigenous tribes in South America. She had a passion for animals, raising horses and most recently raising goats the mini farm that she shared with her mother in Madison, Florida. She also stayed busy caring for three teacup Yorkies and her Great Pyrenees.
Teresa will be lovingly remembered by her mother, Margie Ramsey McMorrow of Madison, FL, her brothers, Terry (Delight) Ellis of Bellevue, OH and James (Linda) Ellis of Norwalk, OH, her sisters, Regina Hamalian of North Port, FL and Dr. Elisa Robertson MD PhD of Lexington, KY, her estranged husband John Hutchinson of Delaware, OH, and uncle, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was proceeded in death by her father Ivan Ellis, her grandparents, Jim and Opal Ramsey, Cebert Ellis and Clarissa Gaynell Nay, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In a celebration of her life the family will greet friends Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Saint Alphonsus Church at 1322 Settlement Rd., Norwalk, OH.
