This year’s entertainment was supplied by a reboot of the Kitchenettes, a group of women belonging to the New London Grange who sang, played instruments and told corny jokes in the early 1960s.
The 2019 version was made up of women related to the original group, and Wendy Hall Kidd, Class of ’75, secretary of the Alumni Association and daughter of one of the original members, organized and led this group.
The recipients of the Alumni Association $750 scholarships were 2019 graduates Colin Cole, Caileigh Kropka, Benjamin Crawshaw, Karson Howell and Lillian Bartow.
DeLaurice Bilton Cooke and Francis Reed Brogan, both Class of ’41, and Betty Rider Cooke, Class of ’43, were honored as “most senior members.” Norma Bailey Bilton and Gene Bilton, both Class of ’44, were recognized for 72 years of marriage.
Officers for this coming year are Eric Ebinger, Class of ’95, president and Sharon Midolo McGrail, Class of ’81, vice president. Kidd will continue as secretary and Steven Fawcett, Class of ’03, will continue as treasurer. Next year’s banquet is June 20, 2020.
