1 dead after motorcycles collide head on

One man is dead and another injured after two motorcycles collided Sunday evening.

The state Highway Patrol’s Sandusky post is investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 6:11 p.m. on Ohio 105, east of North Benton Carroll Road, in Ottawa County’s Salem Township.

Andru A.T. Fowler, 20, of Toledo, was westbound on a 2007 Suzuki GSX-R when he failed to negotiate a right hand curve, drove left of the center line and collided head on with an eastbound 2017 Harley Davidson CVO Electra Glide being driven by David D. Snoke, 54, of Findlay, troopers said.

Snoke’s motorcycle then went off the south side of the road and overturned before coming to rest. Snoke was thrown from the motorcycle as it overturned.

Snoke, who not wearing a helmet, suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash, troopers said. His body was transported to Walker Funeral Home. The vehicle was removed from scene by Greer’s Towing.

Fowler suffered incapacitating injuries and was transported to Toledo Hospital by Promedica Lifeflight. He was wearing a DOT-approved helmet at the time of the crash, troopers said. The vehicle was removed from the scene by Greer’s Towing.

Alcohol and/or drugs are not suspected as a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation, troopers said.
