Driver charged in two-vehicle accident

A Norwalk man has been charged in connection with a two-vehicle crash Friday

Brian E. Hance, 33, of Norwalk, was charged with failure to stop at stop sign following a two-vehicle accident Friday morning at the intersection of New State and Hasbrock roads.

Hance was driving his work truck and heading east on Hasbrock when he went through a stop sign, according to the Huron County Sheriff’s Office report. His vehicle, which was pulling a trailer, hit the front of a car driven by Lindsey M. Buckingham, 33, of Willard.

The car ended up in the middle of Hasbrock Road, while the truck veered off into the front yard of a house on the northeast corner of the intersection. Buckingham’s car was traveling north on New State Road.

Buckingham was taken by North-Central EMS to to Fisher-Titus Medical Center with suspected serious injuries. Her passenger, 79-year-old Joanne M. Kleman, was taken to Fisher-Titus by North Central with possible injuries.

Hance was not injured, according to the report.

All three were wearing seatbelts.

The sheriff’s office investigated the accident.
