Ohmar Roberson, 27, of the 1800 block of E. Shoreway Drive, was charged with OVI and driving an unsafe vehicle.
At about 4 a.m., a deputy at the intersection of Cedar Point and Cleveland roads saw Roberson’s vehicle pass through the intersection with no tires on the passenger side, according to an Erie County Sheriff’s report.
The deputies pulled Roberson over, who claimed he was trying to make it home from Norwalk. He allegedly didn’t understand why he couldn’t drive the vehicle on its rims.
Scrape marks in the road from the vehicle’s rims were followed all the way back to Ohio 13 at Alpine Trail, where several pieces of rubber were found.
Deputies said his eyes were glassy and there was a strong odor of alcohol coming from him, the report states. He allegedly admitted to having two alcoholic drinks about four hours before being stopped. During a field sobriety test, he allegedly had trouble following directions.
Deputies gave him a breath test which showed his blood alcohol content was above the legal limit, according to the report. His passengers were released and he was taken to the Erie County jail.
