The rating system features a five-star overall quality score, which is based on a facility’s performance in three specific categories: health inspections, staffing and quality. The system’s objective is to assist individuals and families in making meaningful decisions when considering nursing homes.
“We are very proud of this exceptional rating” said Colleen Muniga, Gaymont’s director of professional services. “It is a reflection of the safe, high-quality care given to our residents. It also demonstrates our dedication in both staffing and services."
In addition to its five-star rating, Gaymont scored well above the national average for nursing homes in 14 of 24 quality-care measures.
Owner Erin Dotson, who serves as the facility’s director of nursing, credited the staff at Gaymont with warranting the distinction. "We work hard every day to do things the right way and to hire people who truly love the residents who live here,” Dotson said. "We are very lucky to have staff members who possess a true spirit of education and a desire to grow good people."
